Ada Lovelace was an English mathematician and writer, chiefly known for her work on Charles Babbage's early mechanical general-purpose computer, the Analytical Engine. She is often regarded as the first computer programmer due to her recognition of the machine's potential beyond mere calculation. In her notes, she described an algorithm for the Analytical Engine to compute Bernoulli numbers, which is considered to be the first computer program.
