Date: June 14, 1646 • Location: Orbetello, Italy

Franco-Spanish War: French and Spanish fleets fought the inconclusive Battle of Orbetello, with sailing vessels of both sides having to be towed into action by galleys due to light winds.

The Franco-Spanish War, from May 1635 to November 1659, was fought between France and Spain, each supported by various allies at different points. It consists of two distinct phases, the first from May 1635 to October 1648, which is considered a related conflict of the Thirty Years' War, the second continued until the Treaty of the Pyrenees in 1659.
