Death of Jayne Mansfield

Date: June 29, 1967 • Location: New Orleans, United States

Actress Jayne Mansfield (pictured), her boyfriend Sam Brody, and their driver were killed in a car accident outside of New Orleans, while her children Miklós, Zoltán, and Mariska Hargitay escaped with only minor injuries.

Jayne Mansfield was an American actress, Playboy Playmate, and singer. She was one of the original blonde bombshells and a leading sex symbol during the late 1950s and early 1960s. She was well-known for her publicity stunts, buxom figure, her fondness for the color pink, and for personifying the dumb blonde stereotype.
